SENDING US YOUR FILES

So now that you’ve spent countless hours laying down your tracks and are ready to send them to us, how and what do you do next?

Pro Tools

We use Pro Tools as our DAW so if you’ve done your recording in Pro Tools, it’s pretty easy to get your stuff over to us.

  • Find your song folder on your hard drive and compress it (i.e.: ZIP, RAR, etc) into a single file. It’s best to compress each song into its own separate file.

  • Your compressed file should contain the Pro Tools session file and all the folders in that song’s directory.

  • You should also include an MP3 (or other common format) of how your song sounds so that when we import it onto our server, we can compare it to your MP3 to see if something is missing or not lining up correctly.

  • Log in to our in-house FTP server and start transferring the compressed file(s) over to us (details on how to log in will be provided via email when you’re ready to use our services).

  • Alternatively, you can burn the compressed file(s) to a CD or DVD and mail / courier them to us (our address to be provided via email when you’re ready to use our services).

All other DAW software

  • Create one new contiguous .WAV or .AIFF file of each of your tracks beginning at bar 1, even if the track doesn’t have anything on it until the end of the song.

    • The .WAV or .AIFF file should be no greater than 24 bit/96 kHz.

  • This will ensure that all your tracks will line up correctly when we import them into Pro Tools.

  • Clearly label your .WAV or .AIFF files with the track names (i.e.: vocal, kick, snare, guitar1, bass, etc). This will also help us determine what tracks we’re dealing with and if we’re missing anything.

  • Compress all the .WAV or .AIFF files for the song into one file (i.e.: ZIP, RAR, etc).

If you have questions on how to do any of these steps, feel free to contact us and we’ll help you get it all ready to go.
